Maki Ling This switch does exactly what it was designed for, sharing a direct Ethernet connection. Do not expect to VLANs, multilayer switching, VLAN trunks, load balancing, etc. This is not routing, NAT and firewall capabilities to configure. You would use this option if you already have a router between your internal network and the Internet, and you have additional Ethernet ports. This gives you a full-duplex wired Ethernet connection speed, and it offers! Perfect for home office / LAN or engineers who need extra ports Etherenet their bank, because that is what I use mine. Thanks for reading! Hope this helps! 83 of 86 people found the following review helpful. Worth the money! For a client thinking of creating a network? Wish yours would spin faster? If so, this is the product for you. The installation is easy if you can connect a network card in your PCI slot, you can protect your network in minutes. (If you do not know how to connect to a network card, it will take about 5 minutes longer) Anyway do not buy a hub. A switch is full duplex means that it can send and receive data and at the same time. Even with a hub share the bandwidth of all connections. that uses a 5-port hub 100m w / all five ports per port = 20m. be used while a switch is 100 meters per port, reguardless how many ports .. And in full duplex mode per port 200. Also, if you want the computer to a hub, enable each port until it finds the computer. This switch will know that the computer is on port 4, so that you can go right to it, and save time. all n all a great product, as all Linksys products ... 55 of 58 customers found this review helpful. Best for your money by a client first, if anyone out there who do not know, there are some advantages to buying a switch instead of a center main advantage for most users anyway, is that a switch provides optimal bandwidth to all ports, while a center to share the available bandwidth between all active users. This means that if you share a cable modem, for example, with others in a building of the house / office, the transfer rate does not decrease when multiple users are connected to the switch online. Now, to this little child, as soon as I saw the price I took it immediately. Linksys name was mentioned in my favor before, and the current price was within a few dollars more than the 5-port hub. I have used for 5 months to share the cable modem in my apartment, and I can honestly say I never had a single problem. Installation quick and easy, I was online in less than 5 minutes. The whole is smaller than most alarm clocks, so storage is hardly a general problem, this is a best buy hands, someone out there who need inexpensive networking equipment, this is the way to go. The best feedback from customers 103 of 112 people found this review helpful. Products terrible. Company terrible. The Java Geek should have known better. I am a geek (I've had more than 20 computers / servers in my> 10 years as a software engineer and I have settings> 10 wired / wireless for your friends and family), so when I read all the bad reviews on this product, I thought it was people who could not understand what they do. I was wrong, very wrong. The WRVS4400N is completely useless - do not make the same mistake I did - buy a different router. The problem is that every 24 hours or 36 hours (second right) leaves the router to share internet to all computers on the network. It must be disconnected or restarted from the web interface and the problem disappears. So far their support has not been able to solve the problem I continue to send new routers. After this last, they told me there's nothing they can do and it will be reported as a problem for their development team, my internet connection is good as demonstrated by connecting a laptop to the router fails and they have reported no compatibility problems with my cable modem. And what other people feel exactly the same problem. This router has a wide range of features for the price, but be careful - they are poorly implemented. So you'll probably disable it. IPS (special security features that this router offers) functions are useless - if you want FTP, then you turn them off. And even with them, I still can not connect to some of the FTP servers I regularly connect to, as I could with my previous router - such as Google Base FTP servers, and Yahoo web hosting accounts. The QoS (quality of service) features are extremely hard to configure and there is NO documentation on line, include with the product or in the help section of the administration tool, which explains how to actually configure it The range of the N wireless network isn't very impressive. It's only slightly better than the G router from Linksys that it replaced. Both routers were placed in the same spot in my basement. I haven't tried the VPN connectivity yet, but you're only limited to 5 clients connecting, which is a limitation that's not published on this product description, nor easy to find on Linksys's site. Now, I've been a long time buyer and recommender of Linksys products, but in the last two years their product quality has plummeted as evidenced by the ratings they get her on Amazon. They keep sending me these survey's every time I contact their tech support and I share these same complaints, but they don't get any better. If anything they're getting worse. Linksys's phone technical support is horrible This unit isn't serviced by the "home" area of Linksys's tech-support staff, you must go through the "business" area and their level 1 support staff aren't even trained, so you go right to their level 2 support, which you'd think would mean you'd get good support, but not from Linksys. They have no idea how to solve problems with this router. Several of the tech support people have given up and made excuses to get off the phone - my favorite was to reapply the same version of the router's firmware, waste an hour reconfiguring it, and then wait 24-36 hours to see if the problem came back; and sure enough it did. Linksys's phone customer support is horrible. After my last tech support tech's manager determined that I have yet another defective router and I should get a new one, I was transferred to their customer service department so that they could process an RMA. It took them 43 minutes to process the RMA. The customer service person, who could barely speak english, said he had to read everyone of the case notes in order to process an RMA Then it took 24 minutes to get transferred to his supervisor to complain about him. So to reiterate my review: While this router.

Aaron McLean I used this repeater to increase from a week 802.11g WiFi router and repeat the signal to the adjacent house. The small wireless router sitting in my office. The signal moves through three walls 50 feet EOA3630 in the garage. EOA3630 repeat the signal 150 feet through walls of the garage, outside, in their house and is collected by another repeater (ERB9250) in the second house. The ERB9250 is used to transmit the signal to any home 802.11G. My very old laptop 802.11G requirements. My new Dell laptop could do without the ERB9250 in some parts of the second house. My DSL speed starts 3Mbs least then I can not afford any loss of signal repeaters Engenius good job! Advantages: EOA3630 is easy to configure, easy to install physically. It has a signal meter it out so you can see if you are within range of the signal source. This receiver can be equipped with other types of antennas N This will help you increase your signal. It comes with a decent external antenna. Google EOA3630 antennas only other options. The Power Over Ethernet uses EOA3630 well, so you can use a crossover cable (not supplied with the EOA3630 but has ERB9250) and CAT5 cable to connect the two EOA3630 your laptop for the initial setup. Cons: Not so far. Note: You probably need to understand how a router up without the above problems to configure. I do not use the disk configuration, so hopefully that helps users who need their hand during installation. See all 1 reviews ....

Matheny Let me start by saying that this is another quality product from D-Link. I mounted on the wall behind the desk of my wife, so his laptop computer and a network printer can be shared to the network instead of having to go beyond wireless laptop when it is docked. The main thing I like about this solution are: 1) It's a switch - not a hub. This means it will run in full duplex mode, and each connected device does not have to deal with a lot of network overhead. A switch usually provides more than twice the performance compared to a hub in the same situation. 2) I ran some performance tests using this variable, make sure that is really able to support 100Mb / in all directions. 3) This switch looks good - it has a clean design with lights and front doors / power connector on the back. 4) It is with a few screws and anchors, it is against the wall (which I did) There are some drawbacks that affect some people who can support: 1) Although this is designed to mount on the wall, it hangs with The D-Link logo upside down and all the connectors facing down. This seems backwards, and I think D-Link must have at least possible that it hangs in two directions. 2) This will probably not affect many users, a product like this, but you should be aware that it is NOT stackable. 3) By now we should all be used to it, but this option does not come with a network cable. All in all I'd say this is one of the devices that work fine - but I just do not think it will appeal to many people. The main reason why I say it is because there is only a 10/100 switch in a world where very cheap 1Gb is available (even from the same manufacturer). I suspect that most people need eight ports are probably willing to spend a few extra dollars to get a 1GB key, and people who can live with five doors are 1Gb switches cost less than the 2 DES 2-1008E people found the following review helpful. Small but powerful by Shutterbug I happened to catch it in my local Office Depot store. There was an open box item back that somehow was returned by a dissatisfied customer. It was for $ 14.13 due to a reduction of 10%. Anyway, I use this option to add additional ports to my Trendnet router that is purchased one year and half ago from Amazon. This device is really stylish and compact 3 "x 4.5" x 3 / 4 "almost like a little Linksys router. Configuration and connection was easy and painless, and frankly, I'm really surprised at the speed both uploading and downloading. You really can 't tell the difference if your Ethernet cable is connected to the main router or this option. Really good. The only problem is that the unit is so small that the five entries are together so that their RJ45 connectors can be very comfortable around jackets or leave the product quite large. I should have bought the 8 port version of which sold for $ 5 more. At the moment, is at the top of the routers with a pair of hangers for additional ventilation until you can make a wooden stand for it. It looks and works very well. Please give our best consideration. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. It suits my purpose to begin ll E. Swope 'I'm saying this with a very simple thing in mind: to share peripherals, without a security risk. We have many computers and peripherals in our house set in a wireless network through a modem and a bucket. Often need to securely print documents (eg patient records) and will not be concomitant risk by sending confidential information via a wireless network. granted a small risk but a risk, however, and you would prefer not to have said, neither my computer or other peripheral devices are connected to the home network (cable currently used clumsily, incorrectly here as our network is wireless). Sherman bought one of these for under $ 15 I have an Ethernet adapter to my router. At the other end of the second Powerline adapter (which uses your home electrical wiring), I concluded this change. Around the switch, connected my DirecTV DVR and a USB Ethernet adapter on my Series 2 TiVo (which has only one USB port) to connect. Everything works perfectly. No configuration required (of course it could not connect to non-computer equipment). It just works. Both work Directtv DVR and TiVo DVR well, simultaneously! 11 of 11 people found the following review helpful. Excellent quality contacts for home and SOHO needs Sparky Jones This is my third purchase of D-Link "Green" series switches. My third purchase not because of mistake, but because they are so great products. These switches are extremely easy to configure, works as advertised, and energy savings compared with other 'normal' changes to boot! It has auto sensing ports, so they are easy to install and "just works" My only complaint would get a little warm ... but not the device? I recommend this option and this whole series for everyone. 11 of 11 people found the following review helpful. Xlt performance at a fair price by W.
